get there through examining right now the book of Proverbs and the wisdom that it contains

we're looking at Proverbs chapter 28 verses 6 and 11 and in these verses, we're going

to see some contrasts where Solomon makes a statement such as, this person is one way,

but it's better to be this way, those kind of contrasting statements that help us see

clearly what he's talking about. And today he's talking about how the riches of integrity

and understanding are things that we should be pursuing. Even though in our culture or in

our world, you may hear a different message. Let's listen to each one. Verse 6 says,

better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways.

Now this is a verse that kind of goes against some of the conventional wisdom of our day.

We tend to think becoming rich or becoming wealthy, having wealth is the better thing.

But Solomon is saying, there's qualifications here. There's things you want to be careful

about when you think in that way. Because if you are a rich person, but you are crooked

in your ways, you're actually worse off than a poor person who has integrity in their
