Hey guys, welcome back to the rewatch series. This is going to be season three, week five. We're slowly getting there. And before you know it, season 33 is going to be starting here soon. September 17th is the big premiere Tuesday night, September 17th. So until then, though,

1:03.2

I will keep you entertained with all these rewatches. Let's get to it as we do. Each couple performed either the rumba or the samba. So let's start out with Joey Lawrence and Edita Slavinska

1:10.0

dancing a samba. Okay, so right out the gate was Joey

1:13.8

and Edita dancing to a George Michael song, which I believe as a samba, look, the slower, the

1:19.6

harder with the samba technique, I've always said this, though I've been pretty lucky, I would say,

1:25.3

with my partners with samba. Maybe it's the way I teach it.

1:28.1

I don't know.

1:28.8

1:50.1

days or less than four days to really learn a full dance to music, having to be able to perform

1:55.2

it, as you guys know. Now, what lacked for me was not only did it look flat and not as dynamic, it just because the

2:05.7

music, when you dance to a George Michael song, especially the one that they dance to, it is just very

2:10.9

monotone. So there's no like accents, you know, samba comes from Brazil. It would be great to have percussion, but you can't

2:19.4

really add that to a George Michael song. I know for a fact that my ex-brother-in-law, Joey Lawrence,

2:24.8

loves George Michael. So I'm sure he was ecstatic when he got this piece of music. However, for the Samba,

2:32.4

it just doesn't go well, right? It doesn't go with the style of

2:37.1

what this Latin American dance is really about. Considering that, they did a okay job. He just lacked,

2:44.3

like he was flat-footed to me. His arm extensions, though he tried, it just wasn't coordinated
