listener, you know the crack. I'm just back from a grueling

few days of travel. I did a wonderful live podcast over in Sheffield and I was away for the

entire weekend, but now I'm back. I won't be gigging in traveling for a good few months.

So I'm really looking forward to having time to research, to have the entire seven days,

to research hot takes, as opposed to when I'm gigging, that time is cut short.

And I get a sleep pattern back.

When you're working professionally as an entertainer, and you're on the road a lot, you get off stage at 11pm.

You're usually not home in bed until about maybe 3 a.m.

Then you can't sleep until 6 or 7 a.m.

Because being in front of a crowd is so, the adrenaline of it is absolutely huge. You never get used to it.

Doing it a long time, you never get used to going out in front of a thousand people.

It's so unnatural that your body finds reserves of adrenaline and cortisol that you didn't know you had and you're just fucking

wired. I've done gigs in my time where I've been physically sick, aches, pains, shivers,

fever and when you go on stage, the symptoms disappear. There's such a rush of adrenaline that you're not sick for those 90 minutes

or the two hours. Then you get off stage and you fucking crash. I'm gigging 20 years. The only time

I've ever not gone on stage because of sickness, I think it was last year when I got the chicken box.

That was the only time where I was too sick.

I'm just, I cannot do this and I don't want to give people the chicken box.

But any performer will tell you, just one gig a week is enough to entirely disrupt your capacity to sleep.
