Shortly after I met my husband Lloyd, his mom got sick.

She was in her late 80s, and Lloyd and I had just started seeing each other.

Things were still pretty new, maybe just a month.

We went to visit her in the hospital, and when I arrived, it seemed like everyone recognized me.

The nurses said, oh, we know you.

I was like, what?

And when I got to his mother's room, there was this huge photo of me up on the bulletin board

behind her bed.
