Tonight I'll be reading The Return of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle. The Adventure

of the Three Students, Part 1.

In the previous part, Holmes and Watson had managed to trace the locations of the remaining busts and discovered that the vandal was in search of a hidden pearl that eventually came

into Sherlock's possession.

In tonight's story, the duo find themselves drawn

into a college scandal when a crucial examination paper is tampered with just hours before the test.

Whilst some of the language in this story has been changed to make it more suitable for sleep,

it still contains themes of violence and death, so listener discretion is advised.

Before we begin tonight's story, let's get ourselves ready for sleep. Start by taking a deep, relaxing bread and settle your

body in whatever way feels most comfortable. Now let any thoughts of the day drift away from your mind and simply follow the sound of my voice.

It was in the year 95 that a combination of events, into which I did not enter, caused Mr. Sherlock Holmes and myself to spend some weeks in one of our great university towns. And it was during this time that the small but instructive adventure

which I am about to relate befell us. It will be obvious to any details which would help

the reader exactly to identify the college or the criminal would be injudicious and offensive.

So painful a scandal may well be allowed to die out.
