In the previous part, Sherlock used his undercover work as a sea captain to find the true

culprit of Peter Carey's murder, acquitting the young investment clerk of all that he was

accused.

In tonight's story, Sherlock Holmes faces off against the most notorious blackmailer in London,

Charles Augustus Milverton, whose grip on the secrets of high society threatens to ruin an innocent woman's life.

Whilst some of the language in this story has been changed to make it more suitable

for sleep, it still contains themes of violence and death, so listener discretion is advised.
