Globally, there are now more than 2 million

confirmed cases of COVID-19,

and countries across the world

are in varying stages of lockdown as they attempt to tackle the crisis.

You're about to hear from people who have used their smartphones to make recordings telling

us about their lives, their countries and how the

coronavirus pandemic has affected them. It's a global snapshot of a profoundly

changed world and we'll tell you how to take part later. Our first

recording is from Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. Lockdown is being strongly

enforced there with curfews in major cities.
