of God's help in expressing his heart through this verse.

So, Lord God, I ask you to help me to speak truthfully and accurately in a way that will

impact the hearts of those listening and empower them by your Holy Spirit.

I ask it in Jesus' name, amen. Okay, friends, we are in Romans 11,

verses 1 through 5, and the Apostle Paul has begun speaking about a group of people that we

often refer to as God's chosen people, and that's the nation of Israel. But what we're going to see here in verses

1 through 5 is that Paul makes a distinction. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, he makes a distinction

between Israel as a whole and a subset of people within that nation who are actually God's chosen people. And he's actually

even going to use that word chosen. Let's read it together in Romans 11, 1 through 5. I ask then,

has God rejected his people? By no means. For I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of
