| 0:00.0 | Hello and welcome back to practicing human, the podcast where every day we're getting a little better at life. |
| 0:05.6 | I'm your host, Cory Muscara, and in today's episode we're going to talk about the relationship between presence and destiny. |
| 0:13.3 | More to come on that in a moment. First, let's settle in together with the sound of the bells. |
| 0:30.0 | Okay, so I want to start by sharing a post I wrote in our text community the other day, where I said your purpose does not need to be anything more than being in this moment of your life fully, authentically, and with surrender. |
| 0:54.4 | Anything your destined to do will emerge from this presence. I'll say that one more time. Your purpose does not need to be anything more than being in this moment of your life fully, authentically, and with surrender. |
| 1:13.4 | Anything your destined to do will emerge from this presence. |
| 1:20.4 | So if you've been listening to this podcast, I've been talking about this idea in different ways. One is that we might not need to have this overarching, grand sense of purpose. |
| 1:34.4 | The idea of like, oh, this is my destiny. I was given this download in my dream, and this is what I'm designed to do in this lifetime. |
| 1:42.4 | A lot of people create way too much unnecessary anxiety for themselves trying to come up with that. When in reality, most people don't have that. |
| 1:51.4 | And many people who do claim to have that are sort of just refreshing a script that they put in place many years ago, and are just telling themselves, that is my purpose. |
| 2:01.4 | But if they would have really dropped in into what is most alive right now, that is more of an outdated storyline than anything that's true, not always, but that tends to be what I see. |
| 2:13.4 | And so this idea that your purpose could just be like being in this moment fully. Like, you're here. This is a moment of your life. |
| 2:23.4 | I don't totally know how you got here, why you're here, all the conditions of the universe that have created this moment of you being here, but you know that you are here. |
| 2:32.4 | And there's a certain way you can experience this moment, a certain way you can be in relationship to this moment. |
| 2:38.4 | And doing your best to meet this moment fully with presence, with the best resources you have available to you to make the best decision you can in this moment. |
| 2:49.4 | That can be your purpose, that can be enough. |
| 2:53.4 | And I really like the idea of your destiny just emerging from that, just surrendering to being here. |
| 3:03.4 | Exactly. This moment, what's most alive for me right now? What am I feeling? What are the thoughts moving through my mind? |
| 3:09.4 | When I sense into, like, deeply in myself, what feels most true for me right now in this relationship, in this job, in the friendships, in my social circle, where I live, when I really strip away the layers of mental thoughts and ideas, and just drop into my belly. |
| 3:30.4 | Just like, what feels most true? And I follow that, I make that my purpose. |
| 3:35.4 | Well, that, this, a series of that moment after moment after moment, that is what will create a destiny. |
| 3:43.4 | And it's not something that you know beforehand, it's something that just comes from surrendering on the deepest level to the flow of your life. |
