Before there was the vintage Jaguar, the six-figure salary, and a nice house to share with the pretty girlfriend,

there was the $200 a month office with the leaky roof.

It was just the nastiest place you can imagine.

And you lived in it too. And I lived in it too and showered at the way.

It's 1998 and 27-year-old Elon Musk is right on the cusp of becoming a massive success story.

He's the scrappy young founder of Zip 2, a software company that makes city guide websites for newspapers.

Now Musk has his own computer command center, and his business is thriving.

How old were you when you started this company or what became this company?

In about a year, his company Zip2 will sell for more than $300 million.

He's already thinking about the next big thing, a financial company he'll call X.com.

That will eventually become PayPal and net him $165 million more.

But right now, he's young and idealistic, one of the rare and lucky few who can see the future,

excited about what the Internet might become.

What do you see as the future of the Internet?

I think the Internet is the superset of all media.
