So last episode I introduced what I'm thinking of as the artist GPS. The idea that before you can

navigate anywhere, you have to know where you are. You need to know where you're starting from

in order to get where you want to go.

And today, I want to get more specific about two of the seasons that you experience in your art practice.

So here's what I've been thinking about.

If you drove the same coastal road twice, maybe once in autumn and once in spring, that road would be familiar.

The turns, the landmarks, the distance, all the same.

But the experience of that landscape would be completely different because the light would be different.

The colors are different.

What you would notice on the drive is different.

So the territory is very similar, but it appears completely different. And that's what I think

it's like to move through your art practice during different seasons. The practice is yours.

The canvas, the commitment, the curiosity, all of that is the same. But the

experience of it changes depending on where you are in the seasons. So today I want to get a little

bit more specific about two of those four seasons, the making art season and the sharing your art

season. So if you remember the last episode I talked about,

there's four things we do. We make art, we share art, we sell our art, and we rest. We

recuperate so that we can do it again. So this episode, we're going to talk about making and sharing.
