We really do have the freedom, the freedom to criticize.

Here I am criticizing our foreign policy.

Last year we had a rally in front of the White House, the largest rally in support.

Dear Muslims, today, this land of America celebrates its most important holiday, and that

is the Fourth of July, its Independence Day, when around 250 years ago in the year 1776,

the initial 13 colonies announced they would break away from what they considered to be the tyranny and the injustice of British rule.

They said they wanted to live free and with freedom and independence.

And today also happens to be the era in our Islamic calendar, the time of the 10th of

Muharram.

And this era or this time frame, our prophet, sallu al-a-hle-was-salim told us it was on

this day on the 10th of Muharram that Allah subhanna-ta-a-a-a-a-said

saved the prophet Nooha--salam on the ark.

And it was also on this day that Allah,

subhanna-wa-ta-a-ala saved the prophet Musa alex-salam from the tyranny of

Pharaoh. And both of these are savings from repression, from oppression, and the liberation,

and the freedom of the prophets and their followers from the injustices of other systems.

And so I thought it befitting that it just so happens the 4th of July and the 10th of Muharram.

They are coming at the same timeframe.

Let us discuss some lessons we can learn, some realities we can extrapolate about the concepts of freedom and about how

it exists in the modern world. And this chubba will be consistent of three separate many parts.
