Summary

This week we’ve got Max Lucado with us—and yes I go fan-girl and it’s super weird.

But if you can get past that, Pastor Max has an amazing word on the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives and why it matters. Here are some of the topics we cover:

  • Why is the Holy Spirit so foreign to us?
  • What kind of power does the Holy Spirit have?
  • How does the work of the Holy Spirit look practically in our lives?
  • What are we missing out on if we don’t take time to explore the Holy Spirit?

And to top it all off, he reflects on being a rebellious teen (I know, right?) and gives some solid advice for when our parenting road gets tough.

There’s so much I could say, but let’s just leave it at this—it’s MAX LUCADO today and you just can’t miss it.

Each week we have honest discussions about the ups and downs of parenting and the lessons God is teaching

us along the way. It's real, it's fun, and it's biblical. Life is messy. Don't walk the parenting

road alone. Hey guys, welcome to Pardon the Mess. I'm so glad you're with us today. Before we

get started, it has been brought to my attention that it is school picture time of year. Yes, it is. I'd forgotten. But thankfully, one of you DM'd me and told me your school picture story. And this is a sweet, sweet lady. He lives across the country. I've never met her, but she checks in on occasion. I'm so grateful. This is what

she sent me. This morning was picture day for my two boys. Nothing like a school picture day to

0:59.1

remind you how little is in your control. By the time we got to school, my kindergartner had

1:03.6

snot all over his school vest, and my oldest fourth grader had worn his four sizes, two big, long

pants, which I've been meaning to him up for the past

two months. So they rolled up four times so they didn't hit the ground. Dang. I really felt like I failed

1:17.8

this morning. And we didn't even have breakfast because we ran out of time. After feeling sad for myself

1:23.2

for a few minutes, I realized God is actually using these moments and these are all gifts.

1:32.5

Thank you, God, for the transformation I'm going through, teaching me to let go even more and lean on you always. Amen and amen sister. And I, a couple thoughts. Number one, I'm impressed

1:40.7

you can hem up pants. Like I was taken by that. I mean, my kid would just either have to

1:45.0

have a growth spurt or the dragon on the ground because you know I'm not taking time to go to

alterations place. Not going to happen and I sure can't do it. Okay, but then the other thing is I just

1:53.5

wanted to share my school picture story from last year. My son was in kindergarten, my youngest,

was in kindergarten 1.0.

2:01.4

And he, it was school picture day and I forgot.

2:04.4

Okay, let's just be honest.

2:05.3

I totally forgot.
