Trump and now Joe Biden promised to end U.S. involvement in what is described as the United

States' longest war. But they plan to continue imperialist domination over the country and the peoples of Afghanistan.

of a two-part episode that we're doing on the U.S. war in and against Afghanistan. Discussed in the media

these days as whether the war is ending, but few people outside of Afghanistan know how the war

really started. It didn't actually begin in 2001, but rather in 1978.

Today, the Biden administration is putting extreme pressure on the U.S. back government and

Afghanistan to support the creation of a government of national unity with the Taliban.

As Donald Trump appeared to be preparing for a

final end of the U.S. military intervention in Afghanistan through a negotiated settlement with the

Taliban, the new administration in the White House, the Biden White House, appears to be pursuing

more or less the same path.

This is a clear indication that the policy in Afghanistan is being driven not by the

Republican Party leadership or by the Democratic Party leadership, but rather by the Pentagon

and the larger U.S. foreign policy and military establishment.

The U.S. did invade Afghanistan in 2001.
