We're picking up with a new devotional in the Bible app titled Awaken.

If you guys want to follow along with us, and as always, I'm going to read the scripture

than Tori's going to pick with the Debo.

Let's do it.

The scripture is marked, chapter 6, verse 31, and it says this, then, because so many people

were coming and going that they didn't even have a chance to eat, he said to them, come

with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.

The devotional says this, rest is becoming a lost art in our modern culture.

We've exchanged its old-fashioned value for a hectic, fast-paced, break-next beat of

life, which is slowly disintegrated, our fever and passion, while simultaneously elevating

our blood pressure.

Packed within each 24-hour time span is an unsustainable number of tasks we've placed

upon ourselves, as well as demands we've allowed others to deem urgent enough to place

upon us as well.

And based on our fatigue and frustration, we'd give anything to offload the burden.

But rest doesn't seem like a viable option anymore.

We have forever passed up any kind of reality that dares to include rest as a part of a typical
