God can only be known as He REVEALS HIMSELF to us! Through:

HIS WORD -John 1:1-4, 5:37-40
JESUS, His SON -John 1:14-18, Hebrews 1:1-3

0:50.2	There's two big idols that I want to touch on that I think have infiltrated Bible-believing
0:54.9	evangelical Christianity. The first one is what I would call happiness and self-fulfillment.
1:04.4	The awesome God that spoke the galaxies into existence sent God the Son on a rescue mission
1:10.6	to explain him, to to redeem mankind to forgive us
1:14.9	of our sin to restore relationship and build a bridge bring people to himself and that he would
1:20.7	actually be God and we would be followers or the word as disciples to take that ministry and mission
1:26.2	and he would be the creator, and we're the creatures,
1:28.8	and we would obey Jesus and follow him as his spirit in the new covenant living inside of us,
1:33.7	and we would be on this mission together to fulfill God's will, and he would be the focus.
1:38.6	That was the game plan.
1:41.0	But somewhere along the line, we flipped it, and it was, Jesus is my self-help genie and guru.
1:52.6	And there's a Christian way that if I read the Bible, and if I pray, go on a short-term mission trip, you get extra points if you give beyond 10%.
