Certainly there was meddling and probably there was meddling from other countries and maybe

other individuals.

This is part of Russian intelligence doctrine, this idea of information warfare and they

call active measures.

And Moscow continues to meddle in the democratic processes of our friends and allies.

This was about deliberately deceptive campaigns of coercive influence.

They are working on a project called Arena at the London School of Economics.

This is a project that came out of their interest in Russian disinformation but has expanded

to study much more generally the problem of disinformation on the internet and social

media and its threat to democracy.
