Summary

December, 1975 - Thirteen months after the murders of the DeFeo family, George and Kathy Lutz purchase the Dutch Colonial located at 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville with the same "High Hopes" as their predecessors. But 28 days later, they flee in terror. Join me as I examine the psychological impetus for the haunting.

how the psychology of Butch DeFeo's impulse to commit murder is absent from his understanding.

So as we discussed the rationale behind a lot of this in the past episode, let's now look at how we need to proceed in analyzing the haunting,

specifically Jay Anson's best-selling novel, the Amityville Horror.

So again, I want to look for a parallel and right away what I see is that a

specific symbolism embedded in Butch to Feo's brain enabled the same pattern

to develop in George Lutz's mind the following year,

each leading to a physical manifestation of terror.

The evil that manifested in Butch's mind finally spilled out of him into the house, leading to the murders,

And we proved that through symbolism. So moving forward in this story, I'll be referring to the symbolic transference that takes place between the moment Butch Snaps and the moment the Lutz family starts to do the same.
