And today I'm joined by fellow congressional reporter Mika Solner to talk about the most public breakup in recent U.S. political history.

Of course, that's between President Donald Trump and the world's richest man, Elon Musk.

And we were here on Capitol Hill

to see it all play out this week.

Mika, what can you tell us about how the Musk-Trump rift played out on the hill?

Yeah, I mean, I think a lot of people predicted this day would come sooner than later.

So it's been interesting.

I mean, when things first seemed kind of, you know, up in the air and Musk made that initial

tweet, a lot of Republicans were kind of silent and didn't want to comment on it despite

the fact that a lot of House members, especially ones that, you know, are in more purple districts,

were privately, you know, disavowing Musk all along.

So it's interesting to kind of see them not wanting to touch the subject.

And Mike Johnson, Speaker Mike Johnson, yesterday at his press conference, just said that he found it surprising.

He was pretty tame about it and that he was planning to get a hold of him.
