Joining me today is Laura Weiss, our vault co-author and Everything Tax Expert, and it's a perfect week to talk tax because Laura was our person in the room for the very exciting, very long, and sometimes viral house ways and means

markup for the reconciliation package. This was a wild time, Laura. Yeah, it was an all-nighter

and 1100 long worth, a very famous historic ways and means room. So it was great. You were there,

tell the listeners what amount of time you were in the hearing room from.

So I got there.

I got to the hill at like 1.45.

Waysmeans Chairman Smith was doing a presser before the markup started.

So I did that at two.

My co-author, Brendan Peterson, who I'm sure everyone knows, was in line for a seat for us because we were kind of lining up because it was a free for all to try to get press seats.

And then I was in the room for the first roughly hour and a half. And then for a few hours, I got pulled into staking out a salt meeting at McJohnson's office.

So I was over there for a few minutes.

And I was kind of in and out.

I actually then went and like checked into the markup for a little bit, picked up some dinner,

got delivered to Longworth.

And then I was back in there like full time by I think 830 and then
