I'm joined today by our tech reporter Ben Brody to talk about all things Jensen Huang, who made the rounds this week on Capitol Hill.

Ben, thanks for joining me. How you doing? I'm doing pretty good. It's been a big week for attack, so it's always fun to be here.

On that note, we had one of the richest men in the world, the CEO of NVIDIA, one of the top chipmakers around talking to lawmakers this week after a major victory that NVIDIA secured, getting one certain provision out of the

National Defense Authorization Act, let's just start there. What happened this week with Gain AI

and why was that good news for Huang and NVIDIA?

So Gain AI is what's being called in America first chips proposal.

And it would basically make sure that before we sell these advanced

Nvidia AI chips to adversarial countries,

mostly China but some others,

we have to make sure that American companies can buy them first.

And this is something that a lot of Hawks,

China Hawks have wanted to see, and it made

it really far in the NDAA process, but ultimately we found out on Tuesday had been stripped out.

It had been sort of facing this uphill battle, but the players finally told us that, look,

it's not going to make it. And so that was just a day before Jensen Wong came to brief lawmakers, particularly Speaker

Johnson and the Republicans on the Senate Banking Committee and they oversee export controls

about those issues about export controls, but also just about how Nvidia plays in the market,

how chips come along, who the other players are

internationally. And so he's sort of laying the groundwork because basically he believes that

his vision of the market is why they should be able to sell really broadly. And these export

controls are not necessary. And they can be basically a U.S. champion in the face of
