Laura, it's great to have you on the show.

It was a huge week in the House of Representatives as they unlocked the House budget resolution.

And you were there every step of the way for Punch Bowl News chronicling every twist and turn.

Let's start with this.

Mike Johnson got the job done and this measure

passed on Thursday. Take us through the past week and all the developments because at certain times

it looked like it was not going to happen. It end up happening. What's your take on it all?

Yeah. So it was a long but very quick road here.

Honestly, you know, Speaker Johnson pulled it off and pulled it off pretty quickly

in time to go home on schedule for their recess the next two weeks.

But it all started after the Senate passed the budget resolution last Friday night, overnight into Saturday morning,

did their voterama they have to do. And, you know, then it really hit, okay, well, now this is real

in the House. And we know there are some House members who don't like this plan very much,

but now it's real. Now it's yes or no. How are you voting? And so Saturday

morning, we broke the news that there was a plan to vote Wednesday on the budget resolution.

So the leadership was, the Republican leadership in the House was going to push right forward.

They want members to vote for this. That was sort of an interesting experience for me because I was in a workout class without good reception.

So I was running in and out and fielding the news.

But then, you know, it all kind of took off from there.

And by Sunday night, there were already a bunch of public nose.
