Welcome to the TransLash podcast, a show where we tell trans stories to save trans lives.

Well, as you know by now, the Republican Party convention was this week. And as we have detailed,

in so many ways at Translash, the GOP has become a Christian nationalist party, which combines the most

extreme views of both the political and religious far right. However, what has become increasingly

on display is how this American, deeply anti-right. However, what has become increasingly on display is how this American,

deeply anti-Semitic movement, has joined forces with far-right Israeli political and religious

elements. By doing so, they have created a new theological framework called Christian Zionism.

Christian Zionism is an intensely anti-trans movement and uses the issue in both countries

to not only create reactionary links between the two nations, but also to usher in a new era

of authoritarian politics. Now, all of this is complicated to understand. So I'm going to ask

that you hang in there with me as we unpack it all. Consider this podcast as your primer into a world

that few of us think about and fewer still understand. First, I'm joined by writer and researcher

Aidan Orley, who breaks down what Christian

Zionism is and where it comes from. So Christian Zionists might seem on the outset like

they very much love and support Jews, but it's a temporary fetishization with the long-term

goal of their own salvation.

Next, I'll chat with Natasha Roth Rowland,

also a writer and researcher,

about Christian Zionism, anti-Semitism, and far-right politics.
