Today, a forceful mandate to get Brexit done.

Good afternoon. This morning I went to Buckingham Palace and I am forming a new government.

And on Monday, MPs will arrive at Westminster to form a new parliament.

And yes, they will have an overwhelming mandate from this election to get Brexit done.

And we will honour that mandate by January 31st.

Last week, there was a general election in the UK and Boris Johnson won big. He won King Kong

big. He dominated. I'm William Booth. I'm the London Bureau Chief for the Washington Post.

He got the biggest majority in parliament since Maggie Thatcher, the Iron Lady, in 1987.

So it was a big win for Boris Johnson and the Conservatives.
