At any time today, Iran is expected to respond to a U.S. proposal that could end the war.

That's according to a CNN source

in the region. But tensions remain high around the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. military says

it disabled an Iranian flag tanker that tried to violate the U.S. blockade and sail toward

an Iranian port. Now, Iran says it will allow safe passage through the critical shipping route

under, quote, new procedures.
