0:47.2	It's always been difficult to communicate or even know how socially corrosive QAnon is.
0:54.0	And this is partly because the majority of QAnon followers don't do anything seriously criminal.
1:00.0	We hear about it when QAnon followers, you know, kill a mob boss or have an armed standoff on the Hoover Dam Bridge or storm the cabinet.
1:07.5	But most hack-to-Q&on promoters online are merely obsessive.
1:11.5	They may wish for violence on their political enemies, but they typically don't
1:15.5	commit political violence themselves. And so the majority of harm comes when online conspiracy
1:21.3	theories take priority over one's family, work, hobbies, or even
1:26.4	faith.
1:27.4	These kinds of troubles are usually only known to the close relatives of Q-Anun followers, and so they
1:31.9	rarely make the news.
1:33.4	Most people are reluctant to talk about personal family matters publicly,
1:37.6	let alone to a reporter.
1:39.3	So back in 2021, I was very excited to see that journalist Jesslyn Cook published a report for
1:44.8	Huffington Post which is all about families that were strained by someone
1:49.4	obsessing too much with QAnon and other conspiracy theories.
1:52.5	And I was even more excited when I learned that the response to that piece was so massive
1:56.9	that she was going to expand it into a book.
1:59.7	Three years later, it's now published and it's called The Quiet Damage, QAnon and the destruction of the American
