to the show. I'm your host, Rebecca Larson. And today I am very happy to welcome back to the show,

Dr. Linda Porter. Welcome. Thank you, Rebecca. It's a one since we've actually spoken,

isn't it? I mean, we met when you were over last year,

but I don't think we've, I've been on the show for a while, in any rate. Yes, unfortunately,

I don't know what happened, but you haven't been on. I think what happened was that life

probably over to both of those. Yes, you're probably, you're probably right. I'm, I'm so excited to chat with

you today because, um, we talked about maybe doing a series on the, the husbands of the queen

regnance of. Yes. Yes. The queen's husband. Yes. And I got so excited when you told me about this idea that you had that I was like, yes, let's do it. So we're going to start today. And we're going to talk about Mary Queen of Scots's husbands. Indeed. Yes. This is a topic which attracts a lot of attention. Much of it is informed, a great

deal of it still prejudiced. And I'm glad to have the opportunity, not just to talk about these

men, but also, you know, in the context of Mary's life and reign, because I think one of the things that still bothers me,

and as we were saying before we actually came on air, this kind of thing crops up in the press quite often.

There is this still sort of, not just comments about a rivalry between the two queens,

but it's become almost a dismissal of Mary as a person.
