It's very interesting to see all the grey areas that exist in the cracks between all the larger political groups.

If it be the Republic or the Empire, there's always business out on the fringes.

It makes sense, though, I mean sometimes to get something done you can't just go through normal channels.

This is a common theme that we see within Star Wars.

Our most noble heroes rely on different grey area characters to achieve their ultimate goal.

Qui-Gon making a bet with Wato, Obi-Wan hiring a smuggler to get him and Luke where they need to go.

And even the bad batch are forced to make a deal with Sid to get information about Fennec.

It's in these same grey areas where we find different crime syndicates.

As we await all the new Star Wars shows and characters, crime syndicates will become part of the story.

We saw this in the Clone Wars. It's within the interaction of these crime syndicates that we get some of the best stories.
