One deficiency of modern evangelical Christianity is that the explanations are surface level.

There's no going into the deeper meaning of this stuff. And that would make them so much more

valuable. This takes me back to when I first discovered Peterson's work and he said something to the

effect of we all live inside of stories.

I was like, what a silly thing to say.

But then in listening to his work, I started to realize that that word story was not,

I had not sufficiently unpacked that word.

At the same time, tapping into this stuff also sort of feels like seeing behind the curtain. It's like being able to understand the matrix.

So it's not a good story unless there's a moral, right?

Unless there's some principle that you can extract from it and implement into your life and use.

That's what makes a story a good story.

The horrors of the 20th century happened, specifically Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia.

His motivation was to find out why this happens and had to go all the way to the root of human nature

and how we transmit information from one generation to the other.

And so he found, I believe, a deep human truth.
