Pastor Chuck continues with the purpose of John's Epistle as we pick up in 1 John chapter 1 verse 1 and now with

today's message here's pastor Chuck.

So he turned to first John.

Why did John write this epistle?

In chapter 1, verse 4, he tells us,

these things, right we unto you that your joy may be full

So that you might have the fullness of joy. Do you know that God wants your life to be filled with joy?

Peter says that though we haven't seen Jesus still we love him and even though we haven't

seen him yet yet we rejoice with joy and speakable or indescribable and full of God. with and he related the fullness of joy with their abiding in him, chapter 15.

Abide in me, my words abide in you, that you may ask what you will, that your joy may be full. In chapter 16 of the

Gospel of John he relates the fullness of joy to our prayer life.

Henceforth you've asked nothing in my name.
