Today, what we've learned in the opening day of the public impeachment hearings,

and the first death of a Hong Kong protestor sets off a new chain of events.

So what was the mood going into this hearing?

Well, I think the mood was one of anticipation.

Committee will come to order.

Good morning, everyone. This is the first in a series of public hearings

that Committee will be holding as part of the House's impeachment inquiry.

But to a large extent, I think people believe that we weren't going to really hear anything new.
