Summary

This week's episode of the Empire Podcast is an Easter bonanza, folks, that sees Chris Hewitt, Helen O'Hara, and James Dyer (with new honorific firmly in place, at least for now) discuss the best resurrections in movies, wax lyrical about Richard Kind in The Producers, and cast their learned eyes over a glut of movie trailers, including the new one for Supergirl, and review Fuze, The Drama, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice. Speaking of Fuze, Chris has a lovely chat with that film's star and director, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and David Mackenzie, about their heist thriller, accents, working on a building site, and more. Pop this pod in the fridge, smash it from a great height, and feast on the shards of film-related fun. Enjoy!

And, you know, honestly, I was planning on stringing out the search for James Dyer's nickname, or Honorific, more accurately, for a full year.

1:53.1

I was prepared to do this every week for a whole year, asking listeners for suggestions for what Jim Boos should be called on this show. And then we were going to get to the very last podcast of the year. And whatever that one was, I was going to go, that's it. That's your new nickname. And then immediately discarded and just call you something else the next year. But we think we stumbled upon it, right, Jimbo? James Dyer is here, everybody. In case you don't know who that is. We think we stumbled upon it. Last week, it was suggested the Mad Titan, which you quite like. I'm taking it. And I quite like. Because you've refused to sing my name in the Dune style every week, which I think is frankly lazy. It's good for the ears of our listeners. Believe you, me, I don't think that's a good idea. But people are still sending in your nickname suggestions, Jimbo. But I think we found it. Is it like, hey, I'm going to reserve that. It's like, Super Smashing, lovely great, your money is safe. Oh, sorry, where are you from? What is happening? What the hell is happening? What? I was just going a bit bullseye, it's fine. A bit bullseye. Several hundred miles to the south of Bullseye. Who really knows where it's filmed? So, yeah, like I'm going to reserve that nickname, and then if a better one comes along, I can swap it out. Okay, all right. That doesn't stand fair. That means do I still have to do this every week now? No. Okay. If something really good comes in. If something really good comes along, feel free to suggest it so that I can reject it. All right, because someone has literally just sent in one, Riko Suucus on Blue Sky. Why not simply refer to him as our resident face hugger? I don't know. That doesn't paint you in the greatest light. No, that makes him sound more affectionate than he is. It also feels like it might be an HR issue. So I think, I think let's think that. James, I've known you for a long, long time now. You have never hugged my face. That is true. Have you ever hugged? I don't think so. I think you must have done.
