Have you seen the new documentary about OJ Simpson, the ESPN documentary?

0:05.8

If you haven't seen it, it's amazing. It's not only about OJ Simpson, but it's also about

0:11.7

American culture and what it was like in the 60s and 70s and 80s regarding

0:19.4

black, white relations and politics. It just involves so many different things, the law.

0:25.7

And it comes on the heels of a pretty good mini-series on FX about the OJ Simpson trial,

0:34.7

if I could get what it's called American Crime Story or something. I thought it was a little

0:39.6

cheesy at times, but I thought it was also quite gripping. You have to take it with a grain of

0:45.8

salt, this recreation, the mini-series on FX because of course the writers are interpreting things

1:34.7

I heard people talking about it, but I never really looked into it. So this is really the first time

1:41.0

I've ever learned the details about it and I just find it fascinating. Plus I received a lot of

1:50.7

emails from patrons asking me to do an episode about OJ because of these two mini-series

1:58.1

documentaries that have come out. So here we are and this is what I'm going to talk about today.

2:04.2

I'm going to dive deep into the topic. I'm going to talk about some of the history and I'm going to

2:10.0

talk about possible psychological factors behind the behaviors exhibited by OJ Simpson.

2:17.5

This is the psychology and Seattle podcast. I'm your host, Dr. Kirk Honda. I am chair of the

2:23.6

couple and family therapy program at Antioch University, Seattle, and I'm also a licensed

2:28.8

marriage of family therapists. Before I go any further, I have to say that all of my facts
