Hey Deservant listeners, this is Chapter 9 in our deep dive on the psychology of Josh Powell.

Let me give a quick recap to bring you up to speed.

So in December of 2009, Susan disappears.

Josh's alibi doesn't make any sense and there's a mountain of circumstantial evidence in the press and the internet and the police all agree that Josh did it.

But Josh basically gets away with it.

Regardless, Josh and his father Stephen keep yammering to the press

And the police find a mountain of evidence showing that Stephen is an absolute monster. I've already been over this. This is when they discover all the details about his obsession and his crimes on Susan.

Josh's kids are temporarily placed away from Josh and with Susan's parents,

the Cox's because Josh was living with Stephen, so it calls into question Josh's capacity

My friend and colleague, Dr. Jim Manley, evaluates Josh's parenting as a clinical forensic psychologist.
