0:00.0	Hey, deserving listeners. Today I thought I would talk about the psychology involved in the
0:05.1	Amanda Knox case. Amanda Knox, hopefully you've heard of her. If you haven't, you're going to
0:10.8	learn a lot about her. When this case was active in the media, I wasn't really paying attention to
0:16.8	the news back then in the late zeros. So I barely knew anything about it until I looked into it
0:22.5	this week. I remember back then hearing bits and pieces of the case and the news. I remember hearing
0:29.0	there was this young woman from Seattle involved in some sort of drug-induced satanic
0:36.8	sex ring orgy thing and that someone was murdered in Italy. And I remember thinking, wow,
0:44.6	this girl sounds like a monster. And then every now and then, I would hear Amanda Knox
0:52.6	come up in the news again. But it just didn't really interest me for some reason. It just seemed
0:57.2	like tabloid crap and didn't really pay attention to it. And then this week, I watched the new
1:04.0	documentary on Netflix. And since I trust Netflix to give me things that are of good quality,
1:11.7	I watched it and it's actually pretty good. It's not amazing, you know, in terms it's not like
1:18.0	making a murder or anything, but it's worth a watch. And I think it's just like an hour and a half
1:23.6	or something. So it's not a huge commitment. But it really explains the whole story in a
1:29.5	concise manner and a compelling manner. They have a lot of great interviews and visuals and stuff.
1:35.0	Well, that's what I'm going to talk about today, not the documentary, but the entire Amanda Knox case.
1:40.8	I'm going to review the facts of the case and I'm going to talk about some of the societal
1:47.8	implications, sexism, sex and violence, media. And then I'm going to end with a discussion
1:55.2	regarding the research and psychology of false confessions. Because there's a lot of research
