This is the movement of the Holy Family. Thank you for praying the rosary. Let us call to mind that we are ever in the

presence of Almighty God in whom we live and move and have our being. And we call upon him in the name of the

Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. We offer up this rosary for all the petitions that have

been sent in, especially for peace

in the world and Ukraine and Russia.

And I offer this rosary also for my wife, whose birthday is today.

The title of our rosary is The Parable of the Prodigal Son.

This is from Luke chapter 15, verse 11 and following.

The parable of the prodigal son is one of the most beautiful and hopeful stories Jesus offers.

In it, he teaches us so many things, not the least of which is the allurement and detrimental effects of sin,

the bounteous mercy of the father, and the resentment of the son who stayed.

Listen again to this parable, and let's allow the Lord to speak to us anew.

And Jesus said, there was a man who had two sons, and the younger of them said to his father,

Father, give me the share of property that falls to me. And he divided his living between them.

Not many days later, the younger son gathered all he had and took his journey into a far country,

and there he squandered his property in loose living.

And when he had spent everything, a great famine arose in that country, and he began to

be in want.

So he went and joined himself to one of the citizens of that

country, who sent him into his fields to feed swine. And he would gladly have fed on the pods

that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything. But when he came to himself, he said, how many of my father's hired

servants have bred enough to spare, but I perish here with hunger. I will arise and go to my father,
