around you and how it works? In this episode, I want to talk about the process of conscientization

which is a big, fancy word that means developing the right kind of consciousness. If you're

a Marxist, a Marxist consciousness is the general term. Class consciousness is the

older one. Critical consciousness is the newer one. We might add woke consciousness, but

not a lot of people use that and it's redundant. But I want to give you a quick history, a

quick summary of how it works because it is a process. It is a grooming process or a cult

grooming process. And I need you to understand that the processes of becoming a Marxist

is the process of being induced into a cult. I'll do a much longer podcast on the new

discourses podcast platform on this issue when I get it together. But I want to touch

on the broad overview here for you so you can see the big picture. So very quickly, historically,

Karl Marx talked about class consciousness quite a lot and it's necessity. And he kind

of wrote a lot and yelled a lot at people to try to get them to understand their class

consciousness. And he figured that if the workers understood their nature in the class

that they're in, if they just understood, then they would spontaneously organize, create

a movement, a workers movement that would then overthrow and seize the means of production

or throw the existing society, seize the means of production. It didn't work. And so

World War One rolls around. And what you saw was all of the workers' parties fragmented

and they all lumped into nationalist parties instead. You actually see the rise of the

fascists out of these contexts. It didn't work. It didn't work. And so a cultural Marxism
