Austin Texas and throughout his life Matthew has learned that putting energy into his family will produce the results for that are far greater than anything else that we put our energy into he actually even recalls his wife saying if you go we go and that's when they're deciding you know to follow Matthew when he is acting on a set or a movie or whatever else his his family actually travels with them he also talks about his book that came out just a couple years ago called green lights if you haven't read that book

it is absolutely amazing it's one of the few books that I've I've listened to over audio because he does read his own book I've listened to it several times I absolutely love it and he makes it highly entertaining I mean who who doesn't want to listen to Matthew McConaughey right there's my kids say you interviewed buster moon

because they don't know Matthew McConaughey but they knew buster moon is from saying so the takeaways that you're going to get from today's podcast is why his wife Camilla has the attitude of hey if you go we go and why they have that family value he also talks about people that he knows in his industry that has let their family go for the sake of their careers and the lessons he's learned from that he has not been one of them but he has seen it happen over and over again

the lessons he learned from his father about work ethic tough love and how to even respect women the four values that he instills in his kids which is don't say you can't love don't hate tell the truth always and don't have acid he also shares the story about how he got on the phone when he was away at college called his father and laid the news on his dad that he was not going to go to law school like the entire family thought he was going to do and he had decided to go to film
