0:39.7	educate his children. And he defends his godly laws. There was a man named Robert Winthrop.
0:49.1	Robert Winthrop was alive around the time of the Civil War. And as the Civil War was approaching, he reminded the
0:58.2	American people of the crisis that they were in. And although America was founded on liberty,
1:04.0	he understood that in order to keep liberty, we must stay in covenant with the Almighty. And the Almighty is the one who
1:14.9	made the sunset behind me. The Almighty is the one who sends the duck and the deer and the quail
1:21.1	and the pheasant. As Phil likes to say, the Almighty provides for everyone. and he sends millions and millions of pounds of protein
1:31.3	on wings across the sky, every migratory season. If we fail to honor the God who made us,
1:41.1	the God who has protected and preserved us, John Winthrop said that we will collapse.
1:47.3	He said, without returning to the Bible, we will have a national catastrophe that will be devastating.
1:56.6	And he was talking about the Civil War. And in fact, we did not heed that warning sufficiently as a nation, and we lost 600,000 lives in the Civil War.
2:12.2	Well, I think that today we face a crisis that is no less significant than the one in
2:18.3	John Robert Winthrop's day.
2:20.8	We're facing a moral crisis.
2:23.1	We're facing an economic crisis.
2:25.4	We're facing a crisis of morality and virtue and faith.
