It was living to me that in the middle of 2019,

before all this happened,

that a collection of more than 100 experts came together

to try to evaluate the pandemic readiness

of every country on the planet.

And they sort of did a like a preseason college football ranking.

And it was based on basically resources available

and general wherewithal.

And the United States was ranked first.

It's sort of like we were handed the most talented team

and somehow managed to lose the most games.

And that was an incredible thing, right?

You had to kind of ask like, oh, so how did that happen?

You know, aside from podcasting and hosting a television show,

I occasionally write books, I've written two of them.

I'm probably going to write a third at some point.

And at some point in the pandemic, I was going back and forth

with my agent and even a book editor about the next book.

And towing with the idea of writing a book about the pandemic.
