What a joy to be back in Times Square Church and joy for ever, like Pastor Patrick said,

over 35 years that have been coming to preach here and with close friends with Pastor Carter

and Pastor Tim. I was just texting with him yesterday, and I know he's watching this afternoon.

So can we express our love for Pastor Tim, Cindy, we love you?

Yeah.

I'm going to be teaching on spiritual warfare this afternoon, and I want to remind you that in the heart

of the most important maybe passage of the whole New Testament on warfare, where the Apostle

is describing all of the principalities and powers and prince of the air and all darkness,

in the midst of it, as Paul is describing and he's calling the whole body to pray.

He has a moment that I believe is, of course, inspired by the Holy Spirit.

But Paul, in the midst of all of it, for a second, have that moment of transparency and being so vulnerable.

And he says, praying for all saints, praying for that.

But then he says, pray for me.

And I believe the Holy Spirit wanted us, the body of Christ, to know that we are called to

pray for our shepherds, for people that are in ministry.

And you don't know, you can't imagine the attacks, the pressures that come against men of God, women of God, and their families.

And as God gives them favor, and as God gives them influence for the kingdom of God, darkness just attacks.

And we know, and we believe, that no weapon form against us shall prosper.

No tongue that rises against us shall prosper. But I am committing you. I'm asking you to

commit to pray for Pastor Tim. Pastor Cindy, God is raising him up for such a time as this

in the nation speaking every week to the nations.
