I found that one of the most recurring question by Christians, believers throughout the world,

and the most probably troublesome to a lot of people and question that they struggle with the most,

is how do I discern the will of God? How do I know the will of God?

Specifically in areas that are not clearly spelled out in the

scripture, whether I marry this person or not. Am I supposed to make this move or not? Am I supposed to

take this job or not? Am I supposed to do this ministry or that ministry? Now what is the will of God?

Now, I have met people the world over

who confuse the will of God with their own will. I have met people who actually try to

answer their own prayers. I mean, God told me. I said, well, somehow it's just not in my Bible.

They rationalize their sin, and I said, well, surely God must want me to do this because

it happened.

Well, I'll show you the false existentialist views of life that we have right now.

They do things that are contrary to the will of God as it is revealed in the word of God and say, well, God must want me to do it.

Now, I was thinking about this and I thought of a man who was overweight and his weakness always has been pastries.

And one day he decided to go on a diet. He said, I'm going to make a decision. No more pastries.

And he said, to help myself, I'm going to stop, I'm going to change my route that I go to work

and go a different route because that way I don't have to go past my favorite pastry store.

So I resist the temptation. Well, the first week he did great.

And then about halfway through the second week, he walked in the office, carrying the guileest, most fattening, 10,000 calorie piece of pastry in his hand.

And he announced to his coworkers, he said, I am eating this pastry by the will of God.

God wants me to eat this pastry. And then he went on to explain what happened. He said,
