Hey there and welcome back to Pastor Rick's Daily Hope. Today Rick continues in his series called

Pastor Rick with part one of a message called the Prayer of Surrender. Probably the most difficult

type of stress is the stress that you have no control over. You know, if there's something that stressing you out that you can change it,

well, that's a lot easier to handle because you know you can change it if you need to.

But some things in life, you just can't change.

And you can't eliminate that stress, and you can't ignore that stress,

and you can't change that stress. Let me give you three

examples. You might write these down. The first is uncontrollable circumstances. That's a kind of

unchangeable stress where you feel helpless because the situation is out of your control. It could

be as simple and as mundane as being stuck in traffic

or, you know, a delayed plane flight, something like that. It could be more serious like

the economy and being laid off work, which you would have no control over, or it could be

deeply painful and intense

like a terminal disease,

or a special needs child,

or the loss of a loved one,

something that you can't do anything about.

That causes stress in your life,

uncontrollable circumstances.

A second thing that falls in this category I call uncooperative people.
