Today I'm going to talk about the power of worship

and specifically worshiping in spirit and in truth.

So I want you to go to your Bibles to Colossians 3. It's so powerful. Let's go to verse 8.

I'm going to read through verse 11. All right. Holy Spirit open our eyes to the beauty of Jesus.

We do not come to a book. We come to you through your Holy Word, through the blessed scriptures.

And let our hearts burn within us and let us see the Lord.

In Jesus' name, amen.

Before I read, maybe you're wondering, why am I going here?

Worship must be reclaimed and must return to what God established it to be, what he has always wanted it to be.

And it must regain not only a biblical definition before the church,

but also we have to identify what it is not.

So much of what we're settling for is not worship.

And worship, let me say, transcends music.

Okay, the first mentioning of worship is when Abraham offers Isaac to the

Lord. I've taught on this before. He says, the lad and I will go in worship and we'll return.

We're going to go in worship and the lad will

return. That says so much. He identified the fact that giving God what is most important to you

is the highest form of worship. Additionally, we see that Abraham had faith in God's ability to raise the dead, because

he said the laden and I will return.

That's powerful.

So we see the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus communicated through Abraham prior
