offend all. If any man offend not in a word

the same is a perfect man

complete

and able also to bridle

the whole body.

He goes on talking about how we put bits in the horse's mouth and we control them.

And even though the ship is so great and driven with fierce winds,

you turn the thing completely around with a relatively small rudder controlled by the helm.

I think if he is writing it today, he might have said the tongue is the steering wheel.

You know, it's like the steering wheel in your car or in your truck.

Is it true that you can turn your life a different direction with your tongue?

Just like you can turn your car a different direction with your tongue, just like you can turn your car a different direction with your steering wheel. Is that really true? Listen to other translations of this in

Young's literal. He said, if anyone in word does not stumble, this one's a perfect man. The NIV

says, if anyone is never at fault in what he says, one's a perfect man. The NIV says if anyone is never at fault in what he says,

he's a perfect man able to keep his whole body in check. Can you control your body with your words?
