Have you ever experienced a day at work where things are just flowing and you feel like

you're operating in your purpose?

Where you're jelling and feel a combination of, I love doing this and gosh, I'm pretty

good at this if I may say so myself.

For me, those moments sometimes come when I finish delivering a lecture on a complicated

topic and a student comes up and says, wow, I never thought about things in that way.

Or when I'm able to turn a dull paragraph in a paper I'm writing into something that

sounds beautiful, or at least to my ears it does.

Or when one of my former students reaches out to share something I said 10 years ago that

has continued to stick with them.

These are magical moments, which amidst the doubt, questioning and quite honestly feeling

very inadequate at times, helped me see that I'm operating in my purpose.

Over time, I've come to understand that a key element of my purpose is to share nuggets

and insights that allow people to see themselves and those around them in a different light.

And there are almost no words to describe that feeling of alignment.

It's a feeling that I hope most people experience every now and then.

And purposeful work is not just an individual thing.

Companies also have their own guiding purposes.

But how can employees at all levels of an organization truly understand and embody its purpose?
