Welcome to Our Hen House. This is Jasmine Singer.

This is Mary Ann Sullivan. And this week we'll be talking about improv. I mean improvisational

theater, for those of you who aren't sure what I mean. And we're going to talk about what

it has to offer to animal activists. These are two of

my favorite things in the world combining into one. Our guests at our recent Flock Friday were

Austin Meyer and Zoe Novick, and Zoe actually was on our henhouse many years ago. These two

told us about a workshop that they run for activists focusing on improv

techniques, as well as the many other ways that they work to change the world for animals.

They do everything from photography to providing sanctuary and lots in between. So I'm very

excited that you're all here to tune into that. And also that our flock was there live.

Oh, yeah, you wanted to talk about that thing that I was talking about, about gratitude.

I have been struggling.

I'm not going to lie.

And in thinking about what to talk about, I want you all to know that I really do, or we both

do, we struggle about how to find that balance between being authentic and not getting everybody

unbelievably depressed, which is somehow difficult

to pull off from time to time. And so I was watching some video because, you know,

YouTube has become my life, which maybe one of my problems. Probably. And somebody said something. I mean, I appreciated what they were saying. And it was done in a very, I don't mean to criticize it at all, but talking about how important, remember to be grateful, remember gratitude. Like when you're going through hard times, you have to think about what you have to be grateful for. And I think this is completely true. It almost immediately
