Would you turn to James, please, the first chapter, and then we'll be going over to Hebrews,

the sixth chapter, James 1, and then Hebrews 6.

In James, the first chapter, second verse, my brethren,

counted all joy when you fall into divers temptations,

knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience.

The trying of your faith works patience.

Well, now, if things happened immediately,

patience wouldn't be involved, would it?

And so when he says patience,

obviously he's referring to some passing of time.

And I've said it like this before.

I believe the Lord gave me this phrase, time tries trust.

Time, the passing of time, tries trust.

Maybe you hear something, you see something, you believe it, it you get excited but then it doesn't happen

and it doesn't happen and then it doesn't happen and then it doesn't happen and after months and

years it looks like you're further from it than you were then well that, that's going to try your faith, isn't it?

Another word for faith is trust.

When God says something, is it always true?

And how long will it be true for?

Always.

Should you believe it?

How long should you believe it?
