the power of narrative in pursuing racial justice.

Tell us about the book. First of all, narrative in the subtitle. What do you mean by narrative?

That is the heart of the book. Tom, thanks so much for talking to me.

It's something that you engage in every single day. It's something that I do for a living.

We are narrative workers and you know, we don't really think about this term as much,

although it's now gaining traction, but narrative as I define it is simply intentional storytelling.

Our culture is shaped by narratives all around us and so what I do in this book is I try to

get our readers to think about built-in narratives in the corporate media, in Hollywood,

in social media, all around us that shape our culture and these narratives that have long

upheld white supremacy, dehumanized people of color. And I point out that now as people of color
