Summary

Do you feel powerless in your life? Are you stuck in certain situations and patterns with no end in sight? Kind of like your life is a freight train speeding out of control? Today’s episode will empower you to critically look at the moments you abandon yourself and make conscious decisions that are in alignment with your soul. Never again will you forget your ability to choose. After recognizing a harmful pattern in her life, Rachel had an epiphany in a recent therapy session. In today’s episode, she opens up in depth about this situation she finds herself in again and again - whenever she is presented with a big opportunity. Since recognizing the source of it, she muses over how to take charge of her life and only do things that align with her on a soul level. The truth is, there are always going to be things we don’t want to do. We are adults, after all. But there are critical moments in our life where we have the ability to choose what comes next - or to choose what makes the hard things easier. You can either keep yourself in those same familiar but harmful patterns, or you can heal. Tune in to choose yourself every damn day. Conversations from the Heart. I am sitting here curled up in my little podcast

0:16.0

look at home and I've had one of those days actually two days straight that just

0:21.2

have been extraordinarily busy and not in a bad way. It's been exciting stuff and fun stuff

0:27.9

and just one thing after the next you know and I'm recognizing now in my body and in my mind

0:33.9

as I'm sitting here that I don't have that ability to manage stress the same way I used to.

0:41.2

There was a time in my life when this was life I was always this busy every day morning till evening

0:46.6

1:00.1

a different kind of path. So my ability to manage stress or high pressure situations has just

1:08.5

drastically declined which I don't know if it's a good thing I think it's a good sign. I used to be

1:15.2

extremely stressed with Ciliand that there was nothing you couldn't throw at me and I would just

1:19.4

knock it out of the park. I was just living at that kind of level of intensity all the time

1:25.4

and once you stop doing that once you change your pace once you actually slow down and you learn

1:31.1

how to slow down you you stop being able to manage that intensity all the time and those

1:37.4

peaks of intensity that sometimes show up they are at least for me personally they're much harder

1:42.8

to manage. So I've had these two busy days and I feel like man do I need a vacation or I need

1:49.8

that I need some space I can someone like throw me a little weekend yogurt treat or something just

1:56.2

to wind down and it's okay to feel that way you know and I think it's okay to to sense that

2:04.2

inside of yourself if you get to a point of overwhelm the whole point of all this work that we're

2:09.3

doing to feel good and find our center is actually letting ourselves arrive at a place of recognizing

2:16.0

that because that's what was missing for me in the past in my higher intensity life what was missing
